Good Wood, straight from the mountains.

Good Wood Wax was built for people who love their wood as much as they use it. Made in small batches in Lake Tahoe, it's a simple, honest blend of beeswax, coconut oil, and food-grade mineral oil that soaks in, seals up, and brings the grain back to life.

No fillers. No fragrance chemicals. No 12-ingredient labels you need a chemistry degree to read. Just wood, cared for the way it should be.

Why it works

  • Beeswax forms a protective barrier that locks out moisture and stains.
  • Coconut oil penetrates deep into the grain to rehydrate wood from the inside out.
  • Food-grade mineral oil keeps the blend workable, so a little goes a long way.

Together, they condition, protect, and restore shine in a single application — on cutting boards, butcher blocks, wooden bowls, utensils, furniture, and more.

Now in a gold tin

Good Wood Wax now ships in a 4 oz gold tin — a small upgrade that makes a big difference if you're gifting it (and people will want to). It looks as good on a kitchen counter as it does doing the job.

How to use it

Apply to clean, dry wood after use, or whenever the surface looks thirsty. Let it sit for 30 minutes, then buff off with a clean, dry cloth. That's it.

Common questions

Can I use Good Wood Wax on a cutting board?
Yes — cutting boards and butcher blocks are exactly what it's built for. It's made with food-grade mineral oil, beeswax, and coconut oil, with no fragrance or synthetic additives.

How often should I apply it?
Whenever the wood starts to look dry or dull. For a board in regular use, roughly once a month is a good rhythm. New or very thirsty wood may want a few applications close together at first.

How is this different from plain mineral oil?
Mineral oil alone conditions the wood but washes out quickly. The beeswax adds a protective barrier that seals the surface against moisture and stains, so the finish holds up longer between applications.

What surfaces does it work on?
Cutting boards, butcher blocks, wooden bowls and utensils, charcuterie boards, wall art, and unfinished or oiled wood furniture. It is not intended for lacquered, varnished, or polyurethane-sealed surfaces.
